SMM – the leading international maritime trade fair – will take place from 1 to 4 September 2026 in Hamburg. More than 2,200 exhibitors from around 60 countries and around 48,000 participants from over 100 nations are expected to attend. Covering 90,000 m² across twelve exhibition halls, the fair presents the entire value chain of the maritime industry. Key topics in 2026 include maritime security, artificial intelligence, decarbonisation, and digital and sustainable technologies. 

SMM is the central platform for innovation, international exchange, and new business opportunities. An extensive conference programme on open stages – free of charge – accompanies the trade fair. This includes the Maritime Future Summit on digital transformation, the gmec – Global Maritime Environmental Congress focusing on environmentally friendly solutions, MS&D – the international conference on maritime security and defence, and the Offshore Dialogue on the sustainable use of the oceans. 

New in 2026 is all about ports, an international conference on the future of port operations, held in parallel with SMM on 2 and 3 September at CCH - Congress Center Hamburg. It addresses the challenges faced by global port locations and explores solutions in areas such as digitalisation, automation, and sustainability.
