For over 75 years, we have been designing and manufacturing high-performance ship propellers at our Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH (MMG) location in Waren (Müritz).

MMG propellers are manufactured using advanced casting technologies and backed by in-house design expertise and precise hydrodynamic calculations. Our modern production facilities and skilled workforce ensure that each propeller meets or exceeds the quality requirements of all major classification societies.

Our retrofit programme sets standards. What began as a pilot project has developed into a global programme, with over 700 vessels now operating with redesigned MMG propellers. These upgrades typically reduce fuel consumption by 7–8% — and by up to 14% in some cases — helping operators to reduce emissions and improve economic performance. As this fleet continues to grow, so do the annual CO₂ savings, which already exceed 3 million tonnes per year.

MMG also addresses the growing significance of underwater radiated noise (URN). Our espro® and espro silent designs offer propeller solutions that reduce noise emissions while maintaining hydrodynamic efficiency and operational reliability. Optimised design and advanced cavitation control enable us to meet performance and environmental standards.

Our manufacturing processes are constantly evolving. In addition to sand and centrifugal casting, we are integrating additive manufacturing techniques such as automated welding and large-scale 3D printing to extend our capabilities and improve precision.
